I suppose I should take some comfort in the fact that I never had children. There would be no way to look them in the eye, to explain the enormity of what has been lost. It's been interesting from an academic standpoint to watch an entire nation so casually shoot itself in it's collective dick. But it's no less heartbreaking. The only faith I ever had is in people. My brother is dead. My sister found out last week that he had cancer. What kind of fucking cancer kills someone in a week? Knowing him, he probably kept it a secret as long as he could.  I would have.  I'm still trying to sort this out.  I don't have words...I'm not sure I ever will.
